SEINEXISThis policy describes the current Seinexis website and the Seinexis Download browser extension. It is written for people using the extension with the Seinexis Download Windows application.
Purpose of the browser extension
The Seinexis Download browser extension has one purpose: to transfer download requests and supported media links from the browser to the Seinexis Download desktop application installed on the same computer.
Information processed for this purpose
To identify and route a requested download, the extension may process a download URL, hyperlink or resource URL, filename, MIME or content type, source or referrer URL where applicable, current page title or URL where required for capture, the user’s capture gesture or source (such as a normal click or modifier-assisted action), and supported media or resource information detected from the current website.
These values may be processed by the browser extension and transferred locally to the Seinexis Download desktop application through the browser’s Native Messaging mechanism.
Website content and user activity
For Chrome Web Store disclosure purposes, the extension may handle website content and user activity. Website content can include hyperlinks and media or resource information needed to identify a user-selected download. User activity can include the click or modifier gesture used to request or route a download. The extension is not designed to build a browsing-history profile.
The current extension does not intentionally collect health information, financial or payment information, authentication credentials, personal communications, or precise location information.
Local handoff and external requests
The browser extension communicates with the Seinexis Download application installed on the same Windows computer through Native Messaging. The current NativeBridge architecture does not make outbound Seinexis network calls for this handoff, and the extension does not send captured download information to Seinexis-operated analytics or advertising servers.
The extension may make requests to the source website when required to identify supported downloadable media or metadata. A current example is Dailymotion media metadata or resource detection. These are source-site data requests for download or media detection, not Seinexis analytics or tracking. Downloaded files themselves originate from external websites selected by the user.
Storage
The extension uses local or session storage for operational settings and state, such as a Quick Shelf modifier preference and internal generation or status state necessary for reliable behavior. This storage is not used for advertising or cross-site behavioral profiling.
No analytics, advertising, sale, or unrelated use
The current version of the Seinexis Download extension does not use advertising, a Seinexis analytics or tracking service, or sell browser-extension user data. It does not use user data for creditworthiness or lending decisions, or transfer user data for unrelated purposes.
Remote code
The Chrome extension does not download and execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly code. Executable extension code is packaged with the extension. Network requests for download resources or media metadata are data requests and are not remotely executed extension code.
Data sharing
The current extension does not sell captured user data. Information may be transmitted to the locally installed Seinexis Download application as required by the product’s single purpose, and to the external website or source selected by the user as inherently required to access or download a requested resource. The local desktop application is part of the Seinexis Download product workflow, not an unrelated third party.
Retention
Browser capture records and download history are maintained locally by the Seinexis Download application according to the application’s functionality and user actions. The current architecture does not use a Seinexis capture-data server for this handoff.
Your choices
Users can disable browser Auto-Capture, choose not to send or download content through Seinexis, and use browser ownership or fallback where supported. Disabling or uninstalling the browser extension stops browser-extension processing.
Website privacy
The basic Seinexis website does not use application-level analytics or advertising trackers, tracking pixels, intentional cookies, user accounts, or a contact form. The hosting infrastructure may maintain standard technical server logs for security and operational purposes.
Children
Seinexis Download is a general-purpose software utility and is not designed specifically for children.
Policy changes
We may update this policy when product functionality or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when changes are made.
